Burning Ambition (BBC2 drama, 1988)
A 1988 comedy about two men setting up a company offering round tours of the M25, commissioned for the BBC2 'Screenplay' strand:
"It was very funny, and the net result was that their initial tour never made a full circuit as they ended up arguing whilst the coach burned out (one of the passengers died on the way too).
The vehicle was a MAN SR280 (which would have probably been quite newish) in a maroon livery with wide pale green stripe. There were scenes of them nicking spare tyres from a bus depot which I think was either Luton or Dunstable."
(thanks Bob Wingrove)

Steve Foster has identified this for us, adding: "The depot scenes mentioned were shot at an Armchair (of Brentford) depot and the MAN SR280 coach involved started life with Hodge, Sandhurst as KPC410W. By the time it appeared in the movie it had been re-registered PPD648W. The coach survived, as a wooden mock-up was torched in its place."
