In 1958 there was a long strike affecting London Transport buses. The People's League for the Defence of Freedom ran limited services initially free of charge, then charging a flat rate, using a motley collection of elderly buses bought in for the purpose. Seen at the front of this line is former East Kent JG9934, a Park Royal bodied Leyland Tiger TS8 new in 1937:

A pair of 1940 former Leicester Corporation AEC Renowns with MCCW body, 333 (DBC224) followed by 330 (DBC221):

FT5702 is an AEC Regent/Weymann new in 1946 as Tynemouth and District 132. The 'Shop at Binns' advert across the rear is especially incongruous:
