Easygoing and quite charming big screen adapatation of the TV series of the same name. Beckinsale as Geoffrey and Wilcox as Beryl are excellent, and there are plenty of Manchester street scenes, even some footage of the Old Trafford cricket ground and football ground before Manchester United became a circus act.
The buses are mostly glimpsed from a distance, half cabs either in SELNEC orange and white, or in Manchester Corporation red or Salford green:
We are also introduced to a standard Manchester 'Mancunian', which the happy couple are riding into town:
Later Geoffrey's parents ride what appears to be the same bus, and it's seen arriving in town. The fleet number is not clearly seen, but with a grey interior and 45 red seats upstairs, it appears to be one of the initial batch of Park Royal bodied Daimler Fleetlines, 2001-48:
